Birmingham International Airport.

Birmingham International Airport is the fifth largest by air passenger traffic volume in the United Kingdom and handles around 8 million air passengers and is conveniently located for both rail and road transportation and car parking to the south of Birmingham near Solihull. Its designation is BHX.

Birmingham International Airport has two terminals and airlines fly to over 100 destinations throughout Europe, North America, the Middle East and the Indian sub continent. British Airways, flybe , Excel Airways, bmiBaby and KLM are some of the airlines offereing offer scheduled services while First Choice, Thomson Flights and Thomas Cook have charter and holiday services.  The airport is modern with Terminal 1 having opened in 1984 followed by Terminal 2 in 1991.

Birmingham International shares a site with the National Exhibition Centre and has an excellent transport infrastructure. The main London- Manchester-Glasgow railway passes through the Birmingham International Airport railway station with frequent services. Londons Euston Station is only 80 minutes away while Birmingham New Street is 15 minutes by rail. The airport is next to the M42 motorway and A45 main road which connects with the M1 and M6 and the national motorway network. Coach passengers should use the number 900 bus, which runs every 20 minutes, to connect to the Digbeth Coach Station where National Express run a full national network of coach services.

The airport is well served by car parks. Some airports such as Birmingham have car park Meet and Greet where you park in the short stay car park and have your car parked by a chauffeur. The chauffeur returns your car as you clear customs on the way back through the airport. You may wish to use offsite car parks and there are many in the area of the National Exhibition centre to choose from.
